Fredrick John Bostrom Jr., born Apr. 28, 1939, in Hartford, Connecticut; passed away peacefully on Feb. 20, 2026, at his home in Fairhope, surrounded by his loving family.
Fred was preceded in death by his father, Fredrick Bostrom Sr.; mother, Nina Jane Bostrom; brothers Jan Bostrom, Ricky Bostrom, and Ralph Bostrom; niece Amy Bostrom; and son-in-law Greg Morgan.
Fred is survived by his beloved wife, Sandra Holley Bostrom; daughters, Kathleen Morgan, Jane Bostrom, Polly Grimm (Steve); grandchildren Lauralee Frlan (Luka), Bo Morgan (Alex), Jeffrey Thumser Jr. (Ashlyn), Mills Thumser, Max Morgan; great-grandchildren Magdalena Frlan, Katarina Frlan, Nix Morgan, Emma Ruth Morgan; brothers, John Bostrom (Linda), Kenneth Bostrom (Cathy); sister, Loree Mitchell (Michael); as well as many dear friends and loved ones whose lives were enriched by knowing him.
Fred proudly served his country in the Army 82nd Airborne Division and as a member of the Military Police Corps.
A lifelong Bulldog, Fred graduated from the University of Georgia with a Master of Business Administration. While attending, he was a member of The Demosthenian Literary Society, The X Club, and Delta Sigma Pi Fraternity.
Fred began his professional career as National Sales Manager for Deering Milliken before leaving to found Crowne of Fairhope. He then began a career in commercial development with Folmar & Associates before becoming Vice President of Australian firm, Hooker Barnes. Fred and his associates then founded FJB Realty Partners, a commercial development firm specializing in shopping centers and malls.
Fred was a Century Heritage member of the Fairhope Yacht Club, a charter member of KOER, and a charter member of The Supper Club. Throughout his lifetime, Fred was also a member of the Jaycees, Rotary International, Elks Club, Kiwanis Club, American Legion Post 199, National Republican Party, Georgia Alumni Association, Bulldog Club, ROMEOs, United States Power Squadrons, Baldwin Senior Travelers, and many others.
While a member of Peachtree Presbyterian Church in Atlanta, Georgia; he helped found their Seekers Class and served as a Stephens Minister. As a longtime member of Trinity Presbyterian Church in Fairhope, Alabama, he served as an usher as well as a member of the Fellowship and Property Committees. Fred was also a dedicated member and teacher of the Tuesday Morning Men’s Bible Study.
Fred was a renaissance man and a jack-of-all trades. A true helper, always known for his kindness and diligent work ethic. He brought joy through his mischievous sense of humor and quick wit. An accomplished world traveler and avid cruiser, Fred approached the world with a spirit of curiosity and gratitude. Friends and family knew him as many things: the creator of his own proprietary limoncello recipe, a varied craftsman, an entertaining storyteller, a trusted source of guidance, a die-hard Georgia Bulldogs fan, and most importantly as a person who never met a stranger and greeted everyone as an equal. With a hug, a welcoming smile, and a kind word; Fred brightened every room he entered. The joy and light he shared will remain forever in our hearts.
A celebration of life for Fred Bostrom will be held at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Fairhope, Alabama on Sat., Feb. 28th at 2 p.m. with a reception in the fellowship hall to follow. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to St Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital and American Legion Post 199.
