FOLEY — Recent street level narcotics sweeps conducted by the Baldwin County Drug Task Force have resulted in the arrest of eight individuals from Foley and Summerdale. The Task Force targeted drug users and suppliers in the Foley, Bay Minette and Daphne areas, according to a press release issued on August 20 by the Baldwin County Sheriff's Office.
Task Force officers conducted an investigation on North Beech Street in Foley that led to the arrest of Jose Cruz Reyna-Oyerrdivez, 32, who remained in the Baldwin County Corrections Center as of Monday after being booked into the facility on August 17.
Reyna-Oyerrdivez was charged with trafficking in cocaine and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. He was found to be in possession of over 50 grams of powder cocaine, drug paraphernalia and a pistol. Four thousand dollars in currency was seized by officers, the release said.
During another sweep in Foley, Justin Aycock, 25, of Carver Lane in Foley was arrested in the Mills neighborhood for attempting to possess a controlled substance. He remained in the Corrections Center as of Monday after being booked into the facility on August 9. Also arrested were Stanley Colvin, 26, of Audubon Drive in Foley, and Joseph Lewis 31, of East Orange Avenue in Foley, both of whom have since been released after being booked on August 9.
Kevin Hall, 24, of Resort Way in Summerdale was booked on August 9 and charged with attempting to possess a controlled substance. He has since been released.
Michael Prim, 31, of Pettibone Lane in Foley was charged with third-degree promoting prostitution, while Kelly Riley, 21, of Pettibone Lane was charged with prostitution. Prim, booked on August 11, has since been released. Riley remained in the Corrections Center as of Monday.
During a drug sweep detail in Foley, Task Force officers were rammed by a suspect and spun out of control. None of the officers were injured but the suspect's Corvette was damaged.
The suspect was Juan Lana, age unknown. He was transported to South Baldwin Regional Medical Center and eventually arrested for reckless endangerment, resisting arrest and reckless driving.
In Bay Minette, Task Force officers arrested Ferrell Butler, 21, of Clay Street, who was in possession of over a half ounce of crack cocaine and approximately $1,000 in currency, the release said. Ferrell Butler is currently on bond for attempted murder, according to the release. Also arrested was Marcus Butler, 18, whose address is the same as Ferrell Butler's. Marcus Butler was charged with second-degree marijuana possession. Booked on August 17, he has since been released. Ferrell Bultler, booked on August 18, remained in the Corrections Center as of Monday.
Roderick Dortch, 18, of Bragg Street in Atmore was charged with first-degree marijuana possession. According to the release, he ran from the scene but was tracked down and arrested by officers from the Bay Minette Police Department.
The drug sweep was a response to complaints in the community about street level drug sales at the Clay Street residence, where Task Force members executed a search warrant.
In Daphne, three individuals were arrested and booked into the Corrections Center on August 15. They were Phillip McNamara, 19, of North Lamhatty Lane in Daphne; Thomas Davis, 19, of Twelve Oakes in Spanish Fort; and Joshua Hinman, 19, of Penny Lane in Daphne.
McNamara and Davis were each charged with second-degree marijuana possession and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Hinman was charged with second-degree unlawful possession of marijuana.
