4 Fairhope-area students receive 2026 Energy Southeast Scholarships

Four local high school students were recognized during a recent Fairhope City Council meeting after being selected as recipients of 2026 Energy Southeast Scholarships.

The scholarships, awarded through Fairhope Public Utilities’ energy provider, Energy Southeast, provide each student with $2,500 to support higher education pursuits in Alabama, a news release said.

This year’s recipients from the Fairhope service area are Jeffrey Johnson of Bayshore Christian School, Tristan Myrick of Fairhope High School, and David Williamson and Patrick Williamson Jr. of St. Michael Catholic High School.

Mayor Sherry Sullivan, members of the Fairhope City Council and representatives from the Fairhope Public Utilities Electric Department recognized the students during the meeting.

“We are incredibly proud of these bright students and their accomplishments,” Sullivan said in the release. “This scholarship program helps invest in the future of our community by supporting students as they pursue higher education and career opportunities. We are grateful to Energy Southeast for their continued commitment to education and student success across Alabama.”

Energy Southeast has partnered with member cities across Alabama to support graduating seniors since 1992. According to the organization, more than $3.5 million in scholarships has been awarded to Alabama high school seniors over the past three decades, helping students pursue both college and vocational education opportunities statewide.

The Energy Southeast Scholarship Program is available through participating municipal utilities and is designed to encourage academic achievement and workforce development across Alabama communities.
