Forrest V. Weekley Sr.

Forrest V. Weekley Sr., 85, born in Perdido and a resident of Bay Minette, died Monday, Sept. 23, 2013 at Oakwood Nursing Home.

He was a rural letter carrier for more than 30 years for the U.S. Postal Service and a highway maintenance technician for the Alabama Welcome Center for 10 years.

He was also a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served during World War II.

He is survived by his children, the Rev. Forrest V. “Lynn” (Susan) Weekley Jr. of Weoka, Ala. and Faye (David) Mosley of Bay Minette; one brother, George (Ellen) Weekley of Cullowhee, N.C.; one sister, LaVon (Herbert) Baskin of Orange Beach; six grandchildren, Mary Elizabeth Weekley, Forrest Verlyn Weekley III, William David Mosley Jr., Amanda Faye Molsey, Holly Danielle Molsey and Kira Orion Gipson; and four great-grandchildren, Joshua Mosley, Madielyn Mosley, Samantha Mosley and Adam Lambeth.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Eleanor Louise McGill Weekley.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013, at 11 a.m., at Perdido United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Judd Coggin officiating. Burial will follow at Perdido Baptist Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013, from 10 until the 11 a.m. service at Perdido United Methodist Church.

Pallbearers will be David Mosley Sr., David Mosley Jr., Robert Jones, Larry Bryars, Brian Williamson and Joe Centanni.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Perdido United Methodist Church General Fund, P.O. Box 25, Perdido, AL 36562.
