On April 25, Pioneer Repertory Theatre (PRT) debuted its inaugural adult cast production, Oscar Wilde’s "The Importance of Being Earnest."
The creative team and owners of PRT, Cailey Mize, C. Stefan Morrisette and Ashley Campbell, transformed the enchanting lawn of Foley’s Copper Kettle Tea Bar into an outdoor theater, transporting audiences back to the 1890s with their interpretation of Wilde’s romantic farce.
Under the canopy of twinkling lights draped from the branches overhead, patrons basked in the ambiance as the sun dipped below the horizon, immersing themselves in an evening filled with love and laughter exchanged between audience and actors.
Adding to the charm of the occasion, the gracious team at Copper Kettle treated attendees to an array of scones and teas, enhancing the classic theater experience.
While PRT has previously garnered acclaim for its work in children’s theater education and productions like "Pooh Bear" and "Wonderland," earning recognition as the Best of Baldwin’s Best Youth Arts Training, the company is now broadening its scope to embrace the adult community. Through this venture, they aim to foster an inclusive environment where individuals are celebrated for their authentic selves.
Starring in Oscar Wilde’s "The Importance of Being Earnest" were Logan Lane, Cody Mize, Katherine Godwin, Bailee Cosette, Solaris Baldwin, Allana Wheeler, Jeff B. Hughes, Grayson Ladd and Payton Salter, with a cameo appearance by Cailey Mize. The production was directed by Ashley Campbell.
