The Foley Woman’s Club Eighth Mad Hatters’ “Reach for the Stars” event was a rousing success!
Beginning with a musical rendition by Donna Blankensip-Tindall and David Clevenger; and electric hat parade; to fabulous lyrics by Brittany Grimes and the wonderfully enjoyable entertainer Shane Tucker as Elvis; members and guests enjoyed a fun filled event. The packed room was decorated with centerpieces of black top hats, adorned with silver stars and black netting. In keeping with the Club’s focus on helping women and children in need, Club President Kathleen Roberts presented donations of $1,000 each to Youth Reach Baldwin County and Under His Wings, two organizations that provide help for young people in the community.
Members of the Foley Woman’s Club modeled fashions from Beach House Boutique, Chico’s and Too Hot Mamas. Marianne Hawkins served as the narrator for the fashion show. The delectable lunch which was catered by Martha Howard Catering was also served by members of the Club.
Beautiful raffle baskets were awarded to ticket holders during the event. More than 100 silent auction items were won by attendees which included condo and golf packages, enchanting baskets, artwork and numerous other valuable items. A Pot of Gold drawing for $500 was won by Helen Lambard.
The purpose of the event was to raise funds so that the Foley Woman’s Club can generously give to
programs that assist women and children in Baldwin County.
