Winter visitors and seasonal residents will have a new reason to gather downtown when the city hosts the Foley Annual Snowbird Coffee on Tuesday, Jan. 13.

The event is scheduled from 9 a.m. to noon at the Foley Civic Center, 407 E. Laurel Ave. Designed to welcome snowbirds and others looking for things to do during the winter months, the morning will feature coffee and donuts followed by a scavenger hunt through downtown Foley.

Participants will fan out across the city’s core to search for hidden clues, discover local shops and landmarks and compete for prizes totaling $1,000. Organizers say the hunt is meant to encourage exploration while showcasing the businesses and attractions that define Foley.

Attendees will also receive welcome bags filled with coupons, community information and resources highlighting what Foley has to offer. The event serves as an introduction to the city for newcomers and a social gathering for returning winter residents.
