Posted

The Foley Rotary Club, in collaboration with the Vosloh Charitable Foundation, hosted its annual award ceremony on February 23 at Wolf Bay Lodge.

Originating 15 years ago, this event was established to honor the Foley High School Teacher of the Year and the Foley Policeman of the Year. The Vosloh Foundation contributes $1,000 for each award, recognizing the exceptional contributions of the recipients, who are chosen by their peers.

Over the years, the scope of recognition has expanded to encompass additional commendable individuals. The awards now include the Foley Fireman of the Year, along with teachers of the year from Foley Middle School, Foley Elementary School and Florence B. Mathis Elementary School.

Baldwin County Public Schools Superintendent Eddie Tyler and Foley Mayor Ralph Hellmich offered closing remarks, acknowledging the remarkable dedication and service these honorees have demonstrated to the Foley community.

The recipients are as follows:

  • Fireman of the Year: Arron Pardon
  • Policeman of the Year: Sergeant Mitchell Nelson
  • Foley Middle School Teacher of the Year: Blair Jones
  • Foley High School Teacher of the Year: Misty Balster
  • Mathis Elementary Teacher of the Year: Melanie Barton
  • Foley Elementary Teacher of the Year: Chelsie McClellan
