FOLEY — The Foley Rotary Club, in partnership with the Vosloh Charitable Foundation, hosted its annual award ceremony on Friday, Feb 20, honoring civil servants working within the City of Foley.

The Vosloh Charitable Foundation was created in 2008 by Sue and David Vosloh to provide funds for what were initially two awards: Foley Policeman of the Year and Foley High School Teacher of the Year. Since then, and with additional contributions, the awards were expanded to encompass additional commendable individuals from within the Foley area.

The Rotary Club provides the funds for one of the six awards, with the Vosloh Foundation covering the other seven awards, with each recipient receiving $1,000, recognizing them for their exceptional contributions to the community. Each recipient is chosen by their peers.

This year's recipients are:

• Firefighter of the Year — Gary Roberts
• Policeman of the Year — Ian Levandoski
• Swift Elementary Teacher of the Year — Angie Ingraham
• Foley Elementary School Teacher of the Year — Amanda Welsh
• Mathis Elementary School Teacher of the Year — Kerry Becton
• Magnolia Elementary School Teacher of the Year — Kaitlyn Martin
• Foley Middle School Teach of the Year — Michelle Dillon
• Foley High School Teacher of the Year — Brandy Richard
