Eleven days after he received an offer from the University of Alabama, Class of 2024 Foley wide receiver Perry Thompson announced his commitment to the Crimson Tide.
After he turned heads at the Nick Saban Football prospect camp in Tuscaloosa earlier this month, Thompson earned his seventh Division I offer but first from the Southeastern Conference.
One SEC school was all he needed to see and now Thompson takes another step in the wake of former Foley Lion and Alabama Crimson Tide receiver Julio Jones.
“After a great talk with the coaching staff, I have committed to the University of Alabama,” Thompson tweeted, along with a picture of him beside Coach Saban Friday afternoon.
The 6-foot-3, 206-pound rising junior has also fielded offers from Alabama A&M, Austin Peay, Georgia Southern, Southern Miss, Troy and UAB.
The Lions will be hosting a 7-on-7 tournament at the Foley Sports Complex next Wednesday and Thursday, June 29 and 30.
