A Mobile man has been arrested in connection with a Tuesday shooting that left another man seriously wounded in the 500 block of Linda Court, according to Foley police.
Officers responded Dec. 9 after a victim was found with severe injuries and transported to a nearby hospital. Investigators said early evidence pointed to a targeted attack and that the shooter had fled before officers arrived.
Detectives later identified James Fitzgerald Everett, 35, of Mobile, as the suspect after interviewing the victim and reviewing evidence and digital records. Authorities said the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office helped track a vehicle of interest and locate Everett at his residence.
According to details released from Foley PD, a standoff followed, though Mobile Police Department deputies arrested Everett without injury or further incident. He is charged with first-degree assault.
The victim, identified as 33-year-old Patrick Landrum, is listed in stable condition and is expected to recover.
The Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office and the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office assisted throughout the investigation, including the effort to locate the suspect. Foley police said the case remains active as detectives continue to gather evidence.
