FOLEY — The Foley Police Department will host a Community Expo this Saturday, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Cedar Street Park in Foley.

The event will feature fun, food and fellowship for community members to enjoy with employees from the Foley Police Department.

K-9 demonstrations, kid ID kits, golf cart rides, a water slide and free food and drinks will be provided for those in attendance.

Since Saturday is also National Drug Take Back Day, the department will be collecting expired or unused prescription drugs at the event.

“The disposal service is free and anonymous for consumers, with no questions asked,” said Kelly O’Donnell with the police department. “We aim to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse of medications.”

She said the department would also have a collection site in front of the Foley Wal-Mart location from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday.

Wal-Mart is located at 2200 S. McKenzie St. in Foley.
