Foley Main Street workshops to help businesses shine online

Foley Main Street will help local business owners strengthen their online presence with an interactive workshop focused on Google Business Profiles and the information customers see when searching for a business.

“Ready. Set. Shine! Supercharge Your Business’s Online Presence” will be held Tuesday, Oct. 20, at Riviera Utilities, 413 East Laurel Ave. in Foley. The free dinner begins at 5 p.m., followed by the workshop from 5:30-7 p.m. in the second-floor conference room.

The workshop is designed for business owners and individuals who want to make it easier for customers to discover their businesses online. Foley Main Street will host the session with Lindsay Schumacher of L. Schumacher Consulting.

Participants will learn through demonstrations and local examples, with topics including Google Business Profile essentials and overlooked features, products and services, photos, customer reviews and thoughtful responses, posts and useful website links.

The workshop also will cover other places where businesses should check their information, including Apple Maps and Bing.

Whether attending for the first time or returning for a refresher, participants will leave with practical ideas they can put to work. Each participant will receive a checklist and a simple maintenance guide. Attendees also are encouraged to bring a phone or laptop if they want to follow along during the workshop.

Admission is free for Foley Main Street members and supporters. The cost is $25 for all other businesses and individuals. Payment details will be provided after registration.

Registration is available at https://forms.gle/WBWPoWZNuMdunKib7 or https://zurl.co/stimb.

Foley Main Street also will host a second workshop Oct. 27 focused on how small business owners can use AI tools, including ChatGPT, for everyday tasks such as drafting communications, planning content, organizing information and brainstorming ideas. Registration for that workshop is available at https://zurl.co/stimb.
