Mr. Williams’ Peer Helper students at Foley Intermediate School put on a bake sale to raise money for the nursing home.
They will make fruit baskets for the people in the nursing home that do not have family to spend Christmas with. The bake sale raised $300 and it all goes to the fruit baskets for the nursing home.
SaraBeth Tibbs is one Peer Helper who explained that they had a blast doing the bake sale and she thinks that they made a true difference. Skylar Maliska is another Peer Helper, and she said that they should do other activities like this to help special causes. Thank you to the Peer Helpers and Mr. Williams.
Last Thursday, Mrs. Hale’s GEP students went to the Exploreum on a field trip. At the Exploreum they saw kangaroos, dingos, kookaburras, sugar gliders, and many more animals from Australia.
They also went to see an IMAX movie about Australia. They did many more fun activities like the candy flame thrower. This was a chemistry activity. I asked Amber Cruz her favorite part of the field trip. She said she liked seeing the dingos. A dingo is an Australian dog. We are so happy that the GEP class had fun.
Foley Intermediate School is having a canned food drive. You can put your food on an Alabama or Auburn table. If you bring nonperishable food items you can wear your Alabama or Auburn team jersey on Friday. The food you bring in will go to needy families in Foley so they will have a Happy Thanksgiving. The team with themost canned food will be our prediction of who will win the Iron Bowl. Roll Tide! War Eagle!
