Foley High School officials and those of the city have finalized a parking plan for the Foley-LeFlore football game to be held Friday evening at Ivan Jones Stadium. The plan is an effort to offset parking problems that might result from construction at Foley Elementary and Foley Middle schools near the stadium.
Fans planning on attending the game are asked to drive to the Foley Soccer Complex located on U.S. Highway 98 West and park. Beginning around 5:15 p.m., school buses will begin shuttling fans to the stadium.
Multiple buses will be running from the Soccer Complex to the stadium and, as soon as one bus is filled, it will leave for the stadium and another bus can be boarded for the trip.
The area at the Soccer Complex will be given additional lighting with the help of Foley Fire Department and Foley Police Department officers will provide security at the Soccer Complex where vehicles will be parked.
A handicap accessible bus will be available for the shuttle. Cost to ride the buses will be $1 per person. Buses will unload fans at the northwest gate of the stadium where tickets can be purchased.
Late in the third quarter of the game a bus will be available to take fans who want to leave early back to the Soccer Complex to their vehicles.
There will be reserved parking for 2007 reserve seat ticket holders on the Elementary School campus accessed off Cedar Street at the "horseshoe" area. Also, there are limited paid parking areas around the stadium.
