FOLEY, Alabama — The Foley Lions improved to 2-0 in 6A Area play with a 54-52 win over rival Robertsdale on Tuesday.

The Lions (8-8) got 17 points apiece from Rafael Adams and Quinton Butler in a game with eight lead changes in the fourth period alone. Butler scored nine points in the fourth, including a three-point play with 58 seconds left that gave the Lions the lead for the final time.

"Down the stretch (Butler) was very poised," Foley head coach Shumbe Hunter said. "He's a senior. I challenged him to be strong physically and mentally and to carry his team. And down the stretch, that last minute or two, he carried his team."

Adams added 21 rebounds in the win for Foley, who plays at Baldwin County on Friday at 7:30 p.m.

"We played with a lot of heart, I must say that," Hunter said. "I'm proud of our guys. I'm just so proud of them, that's all I can say."

Allen Ware and Alphonso Stewart had 13 points each for Robertsdale (15-6, 0-1), who plays at Daphne on Friday in Area 3 play.
