ORANGE BEACH, AL - An inspection crew is on the way to examine the Foley Beach Express toll bridge after it was struck by a barge overnight. It is closed until further notice.

According to City Administrator Ken Grimes a barge struck the safety barrier of the bridge. A safety inspection is planned today.

At about 5 a.m. Orange Beach police cars blocked both ends of the bridge.

Grimes said the rest of the express is open.
