Fog, fog go away

DAPHNE, Ala.—It's beginning to look a lot like—what exactly?

Motorists passing through the Eastern Shore earlier this week saw less of Christmas decorations—and less of anything, for that matter.

Thick patches of fog floated here Tuesday through Thursday, preventing motorists traveling east on the bayway, U.S. Highway 90, from seeing the Eastern Shore line or the area's usual buildings, and presenting some challenges maneuvering through traffic.

Fog—a cloud bank that has contact with the ground—can present dangers from reduced visibility. Motorists should be extra careful when driving through foggy areas.

The following fog safety tips, according to MSNBC, should keep you safe in fog-prone areas.

Rule #1: Use wipers, defroster and low beam head lights

Rule #2: No sudden moves on the road

Rule #3: Keep your distance between other cars

Rule #4: Pull over and get out of the car

Rule #5: Don’t drive
