Bobbie Jean “Big Mama” Flowers, 73, a native and resident of Robertsdale, died Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2009.
She was a 1954 graduate of Baldwin County High School.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Lee and Frances Hastings Allen; sisters, Beulah Faye, Eula Boone, Ruby Isaac; brother, Norman Allen; and special niece, Shirley Boone.
Survivors include her husband, R.A. Flowers of Robertsdale; daughter, Bonnie (Bill) White of Mobile; two sons, Earl (Merile) Flowers and Ray Flowers, both of Robertsdale; three sisters, Ada Barbee of Sevierville, Tenn., Annie Garner and Leta Mayhair, both of Cantonment, Fla.; three brothers, Orlan Allen and J.T. Allen, both of Gateswood, and Alton Allen of Brewton; seven grandchildren, Tyler White, Raven Hinote, Brandi Duck, Trenton Flowers, Bruce Walker, Preston Walker and Nicole Dallas; and eight great-grandchildren, Morgan and Logan Wilson, Cruz White, Aiden and Jake Duck, Hayle Flowers, Peyton Dallas and Laney Walker.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 29, from the chapel of Mack Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Bethel Baptist church Cemetery in Robertsdale.
