LOXLEY, Alabama --- A Pensacola, Fla., man who never returned from a break during the jury deliberations of his murder trial, was apprehended Wednesday night by the combined effort of U.S. Marshals from Mobile and Pensacola.

According to a release from the U.S. Marshals Service, task force members from the Gulf Coast and Florida Regional Fugitive task forces arrested Ortavious Devon Wilson at about 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Loxley Motel.

Wilson, 33, was arrested outside of a room he rented without incident, according to the release. Task force members did report a 9 mm handgun, reportedly stolen from Ecambia County, Fla., last year, was found in Wilson’s room, along with substances that appeared to be crack cocaine and marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.

U.S. marshals from Pensacola and Mobile, task force officers from the Florida State Attorney’s Office, Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office, Monroeville Police Department and the Alabama Department of Corrections, assisted in the arrest.

The release stated that Wilson had the gun’s magazine, loaded with three bullets, in his pocket. Wilson is not currently facing local charges in Alabama, but stands to face charges from the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Mobile and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms and Escambia County Sheriff’s Office in Florida.

Wilson, who was found guilty on murder charges shortly after he fled the Escambia County Courthouse, was remanded without bond at the Baldwin County Corrections Facility.
