Five arrested in Gulf Shores on meth charges

GULF SHORES,Ala. — On Dec. 17 Gulf Shores Police responded to Magnolia Bay Apartments at 19664 W. 36th Ave. in response to a strange smell coming from an apartment.

A subsequent investigation led to the discovery of an active working methamphetamine lab in an apartment at that location.

In the apartment in addition to the adults was a 4-year-old child who was present. DHR was contacted to assist in the handling of the child who was present in these dangerous conditions.

Charged in the case are James Nicolas Durham who is charged with drug trafficking, manufacture of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, chemical endangerment to a child.
