First Marietta Johnson Day celebration

Mayor Tim Kant signed this proclamation recently, designating Oct. 8 as Marietta Johnson Day, in honor of the progressive educator who founded the School of Organic Education in Fairhope in 1907. An event to celebrate the occasion will be held tomorrow, from 3 - 5 p.m., at Dahlgren Hall on the Fairhope campus of Faulkner State Community College. Festivities will include dancing, music and refreshments.
