GULF SHORES, AL - Marlene Johnt will be among the many artists displaying her original works of art at the first market of the year.
The Gulf Coast Arts Alliance, in partnership with the City of Gulf Shores, will have its first Art Market of the year, Jan. 23 at the First Presbyterian Church in Gulf Shores. This indoor Art Market will be from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
Visitors will enjoy browsing the exhibits of local and regional artists displaying for sale their original works of art. These will include paintings in acrylic, pastel, watercolor and oil. There will be hand created jewelry, fiber art, pottery, wood and metal art.
Marlene received an Art Education degree from the University of Alabama and a Masters in the same from the University of Southern Mississippi.
After retiring teaching, Marlene continued working to in oils and acrylics, exploring realism to non-objective painting. Her paintings represent a life spent exploring the many expressions of our Southern lifestyle. Marlene received an Art Education degree from the University of Alabama and a Masters in the same from the University of Southern Mississippi.
She also started collecting shells and fragments and began her jewelry line “Maggie Marlene” which can be found in the GCAA Gift Shop and in shadow boxes. Marlene has received many awards including Best of Show and Judges Choice in 2015 for her body of work.
