Final plans made for 5th Annual “Fourth at the Wharf” celebration

ORANGE BEACH, Ala. — Final plans have been made for another big “Fourth at The Wharf” Independence Day celebration this year in Orange Beach. It will mark the fifth year for the event including a concert and fireworks.

Thousands of locals as well as vacationers will fill The Amphitheater at The Wharf at 8 p.m. on July 4th for a concert by country superstars Montgomery Gentry along with James Otto and Easton Corbin.

Eddie Montgomery and Troy Gentry, natives of Garrard County, Ky., make up the vocal duo that has enjoyed numerous country music awards and hit songs since signing their first record deal in 1999. Montgomery is the brother of solo artist John Michael Montgomery, who was originally part of the band. Songs that have reached the top of the charts for Montgomery Gentry include Roll With Me, Something to Be Proud Of, and If You Ever Stop Loving Me. The group will be appearing for the second year in a row as part of the Pepsi Star Concert Series.

Otto, the brother-in-law of Rascal Flatts Jay DeMarcus, recorded Billboard’s No. 1 Country hit in 2008 – Just Got Started Loving You.

In addition, Subway will be the title sponsor for the 2010 Fireworks Spectacular which will be presented as part of the concert.

“The Fourth at The Wharf fireworks are provided by support from Subway’s regional owners,” said Peter Bryan, General Manager of The Amphitheater at The Wharf. “We are currently working with the Subway Mobile-Pensacola market which consists of 121 locally owned Subway restaurants along the Alabama-Florida Coast and Southwest Alabama to put together a special promotion for Subway customers to purchase discount tickets to our annual fourth at The Wharf concert with Montgomery Gentry. The promotion will start at the beginning of May. We could not be more excited about our partnership with Subway.”

The Subway sponsorship also includes the Subway Rocket Kids Fun Run held in conjunction with the Baptist Health Care and Andrews Institute Stars & Stripes 5K Run benefiting the Make-a-Wish Foundation. This 5K and the associated children’s Fun Run take place on July 4th and are part of the Fourth at The Wharf festivities.
