FAIRHOPE, Ala. - The executive director of the nonprofit organization Fairhope Educational Enrichment Foundation (FEEF) announced today that she would take a leave of absence in order to work on the initiative for a local school system in Fairhope.
“It’s a decision based on many months of exploring and understanding the issues and options before us,” Diana Brewer stated May 19. “I cannot, however, take a public role in this initiative—volunteering my time, energy and expertise—while at the same time upholding FEEF’s position of neutrality. I appreciate the FEEF Board for respecting my position and granting this leave of absence."
Brewer stated the leave of absence from FEEF would begin June 1.
“In the meantime, I encourage the entire Fairhope community to get involved in some way to ensure that our schools are the absolute best they can be, and to continue to support FEEF and its mission of better education for all Fairhope students,” Brewer stated.
