Farmers and agribusiness professionals across southwest Alabama will have multiple opportunities in February to gain timely production and market insights as Alabama Extension and the Alabama Peanut Producers Association host a series of regional meetings.

The schedule begins with Field Focus Agronomy Meetings hosted by Alabama Extension on Feb. 10 and 12. The meetings will highlight high-yield strategies and provide essential crop and market updates to help producers prepare for the upcoming growing season.

The first Field Focus Agronomy Meeting will be held Feb. 10 at 5 p.m. at the Farmers Federation Building behind ALFA in Robertsdale. Eddie McGriff and Chad Henderson will share their High Yield Corn Program during the evening session.

A second agronomy meeting is scheduled for Feb. 12 at 11 a.m. at Grace Fellowship Church in Atmore. Auburn University specialists will present updates on crops and markets relevant to southwest Alabama producers.

The Field Focus Agronomy Meetings are free and open to anyone interested in improving crop performance and staying informed on market trends. A sponsored meal will be provided.

Later in the month peanut growers across South Alabama are invited to attend one of three Alabama Peanut Producers Association meetings scheduled for Feb. 23 and 24. The meetings offer opportunities to connect with fellow producers hear updates from industry experts and learn about resources available through Alabama Extension.

The first peanut producer meeting will take place Feb. 23 at 11 a.m. at Loves and Fishes in Wilmer. A second meeting is scheduled for Feb. 23 at 6 p.m. at the Farmers Federation Building behind ALFA in Robertsdale. The final meeting will be held Feb. 24 at 11 a.m. at Grace Fellowship Church in Atmore.

Each session will feature updates on peanut production marketing and research along with refreshments and networking opportunities. Peanut producers are encouraged to attend the meeting most convenient to them.
