Fatality confirmed in morning balcony fall in Gulf Shores

GULF SHORES, Ala. - Police are working the scene of a fatal balcony fall in Gulf Shores this morning. Officials are busy processing the scene and details are few.

Sgt. Jason Woodruff, a detective with the Gulf Shores Police Department says the fatality is a white female who fell from a balcony at Seawind Condominiums at 401 E. Beach Boulevard.

The incident was reported to police about 9:15 this morning. Woodruff said police are still trying to confirm what floor the victim fell from but said "it appears to be a great distance."

The Seawind is 20 stories high.
