DAPHNE — The Daphne Public Library’s Teen Advisory Board members on Saturday will host a “Fall into Reading” celebration.

The event will be held at 6:30 p.m. on the plaza outside the library.

“We’re inviting families to come out and enjoy the evening on the plaza,” Louise Youngblood, young adults librarian, said.

The event includes live entertainment by the band RomanStreet, a silent art auction and poetry readings.

Local artists with the Bay Rivers Art Guild will donate the artwork.

Kids can play games and get their faces painted, Youngblood said.

While admission is free, refreshments will be sold; proceeds will benefit the library’s young adult section, according to Youngblood.

The teen board comprises 15 students in eighth through 12th grades, gives a voice to the young adults in the library, Youngblood said.

Board members would like to subscribe to teen magazines and expand the music collection and books on tape, she said.

The Friends of the Library is sponsoring the event.
