Yet another experienced group of senior leaders will look to set the tone for the Fairhope Pirates who are vying for a seventh consecutive postseason berth.
This year, it’s a 37-athlete class that will look to step into high-impact roles on the Class 7A stage for head coach Tim Carter entering his ninth year as the Pirates’ head man. Even though only roughly 22 of them earned starting roles, Carter said this group has never wavered in their effort on the field and commitment to each other.
Stepping into a quarterbacking vacancy left by Jacksonville State signee Caden Creel will be Preston Godfrey, an all-county running back from last season who rushed for more than 700 yards. Before a knee injury as a freshman, Godfrey served as a quarterback in eighth grade.
Key Storylines
