According to reports, Farrell was traveling westbound when his car crossed the center line, striking a 2002 International Tractor Trailer driven by Michael Shepler, 37, of Foley.

Farrell died at the scene. Shepler was taken to South Baldwin Regional Medical Center for treatment of injuries that were said to be minor.

Both men were wearing seat belts, and the airbags did deploy in the Camry.
