FAIRHOPE, Ala. - The city of Fairhope’s summer farmers’ market will begin later this month on Thursday, May 19.

The annual event will be located again this year behind the Fairhope Public Library on Bancroft Street every Thursday afternoon from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. through July 7.

The market will offer fresh and organic produce, plants, fresh cut flowers, local honey, homemade baked goods, herbs, eggs and more, according to a city news release

The city’s no-kill animal shelter The Haven will hold pet adoptions and live entertainment will be provided each week, the release stated.

The Youth Services Department of the Fairhope Public Library will once again participate in the Fairhope Farmer's Market.

Join them "under the tree” on Thursdays at 3:30 p.m. for stories and tales from around the world, to correlate with their Summer Reading Program theme, "One World, Many Stories.”

Senior coupon vouchers distributed through the Alabama Farmer’s Market Authority can be used at the market. For information on how to apply for vouchers visit http://www.fma.state.al.us/seniornutrition/
