The Fairhope Social Club restaurant is coming to downtown Fairhope soon.
The new restaurant, located at 14 N. Church St., is owned and operated Jessica Barnhill of Rae's Kitchen, also in downtown Fairhope, along with her partners Drew Burroughs and Noah Matthews.
People driving down Church Street may have noticed that work is already being done on the restaurant, the former site of My Place. The sign is already up, and their friends from SEALE MARINE installed a new deck.
Barnhill described Fairhope Social Club as a "casual eatery with a modern, fun twist." Some of the food she teased will be served includes charcuterie nachos, curly fry salad and sandwiches such as the Alabama Tenderloin, a fried bologna sandwich. They will also have a bar and serve cocktails such as the Social Club Kool Aid and Giggle Juice, their own take on a French 75.
Barnhill said the restaurant will be a family-friendly establishment. However, unlike Rae's Kitchen, which closes their doors at dusk, Fairhope Social Club will also be open later and on weekends.
Barnhill said the plan is to have a soft opening by invite only followed by an official opening expected around the second week of April.
