Fairhope resident dies in domestic disturbance

FAIRHOPE, Ala. — A Fairhope female remains in custody at the Fairhope Police Department following a domestic incident that left one resident dead.

Police are not yet releasing the names of the victim and the suspect, pending notification of all family members.

According to a police report, today around 9:57 a.m., FPD responded to a phone call report of a domestic disturbance in the 19000 block of South Ingleside Drive. The caller stated that two adults were fighting, and that one of them had been stabbed. Officers found the victim lying on the floor suffering from a stab wound. The alleged assailant was also in the home and was immediately taken into custody. Paramedics arrived on scene and the victim was pronounced dead.

Although other witnesses were detained during the investigation, the FPD reports they anticipate no further charges being filed.
