FAIRHOPE, Ala. - The two meetings that occur immediately prior to Monday’s City Council meeting this month will address a range of issues from the use of natural gas in city vehicles to the overhaul of the city’s “tree ordinance.”
At 4:45 p.m., Monday, Feb. 28, the council-appointed Financial Advisory Committee has seven substantive items on its 30-minute meeting agenda.
The items include: (1) Review of cost reduction projects, as follow-up from May 17, 2010 council Workshop; (2) Discussion – use of natural gas to power city vehicles;
(3) Discussion – short term & long term capital projects; (4) Request – Approval to apply for a National Estuary Program grant; (5) Request – Approval to purchase street sweeper; (6) Information from Recreation Board; and (7) Discussion – Strategic Plan .
At the council work session that normally begins at 5:15 p.m., the council is expected to discuss the proposed revisions to the “tree ordinance,” which is scheduled for a vote at the regular meeting afterwards.
The regular council meeting starts at 6 p.m. in council chambers, and the FAC meeting and work session are held in the Delchamps Room at City Hall.
