Fairhope Mayor Tim Kant served federal grand jury subpoena Thursday in probe of BP oil spill contract

FAIRHOPE, Alabama— Mayor Tim Kant was served with a grand jury subpoena Thursday in the federal investigation of a city contract awarded to the company of state Sen. Lee "Trip" PIttman last year for BP oil spill cleanup, according to city staff.

Subpoenas were also issued Sept. 15 to City Administrator Gregg Mims, Purchashing Manager Dan Ames and Information Technology Director Jason Colee in that probe of the $635,000 contract to Pittman Trucking Co. of Daphne in June 2010, a municipal employee said.
