Fairhope Lions Club donates $1,300 to support veterans in Bay Minette

Posted

Members of the Fairhope Lions Club presented a $1,300 donation Feb. 5 to the William F. Green State Veterans Home, supporting programs and services for more than 150 residents who served in the nation’s armed forces.

The check was accepted by Charles Allen, director of the facility, and Jessica Kenny, director of activities. Club members said the contribution reflects their continued commitment to honoring veterans and supporting efforts that enhance their quality of life.

Located in Bay Minette, the William F. Green State Veterans Home offers a comprehensive range of services designed to provide a supportive and engaging environment. Residents receive 24-hour nursing coverage and have access to a physician on call around the clock. The facility also provides physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy, along with pharmacy services, dietary support, social services and structured program activities.

Leaders at the home emphasize a mission centered on maintaining dignity and improving the daily lives of residents through both medical care and recreational opportunities.

The Fairhope Lions Club’s donation will help sustain these programs, which aim to create a warm, stimulating setting for veterans in residence.

Those interested in contributing further may make donations at the “Missing Man Table,” located inside the Clovis Cafe at 19548 Boothe Road in Fairhope.
