Fairhope library holiday book sale Friday, Saturday

FAIRHOPE -- The Friends of the Fairhope Public Library will hold a Holiday Bazaar featuring used, vintage, unusual and some rare books in the Giddens Conference Center in the lobby of the Fairhope Public Library, 501 Fairhope Ave. on Friday and Saturday.

The bazaar will also feature original works of art, and many gift items that have been donated to the Friends

The sale will take place Friday, Dec. 3, noon to 4 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 4, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

With shipping issues causing shortages of new items in stores, this is an opportunity to get a meaningful, personal present for your family members, friends and business associates, while supporting the Fairhope Public Library, according to an FoFPL statement.

Supporters are also reducing waste by “upcycling” their books and other items.

There will be holiday-themed books, including cookbooks, fiction, religious works, children’s books, and DVDs.

The sale will also include a selection of regular DVDs, CDs, and audio books. A $1 paperback section will provide stocking stuffers. While fiction is a mainstay, there will be non-fiction, mysteries and children’s books. The sale also features gift baskets, puzzles and other items donated to the friends.

“You will find some of the best bargains in town at a Friends' sale...from books to media to home goods to fabulous original art all available at our Holiday Bazaar, We hope everyone will stop by to browse and buy,” said Randal Wright, president of the FoFPL.

The FoFPL’ was established to support and advocate for the Fairhope Public Library.
