Fairhope Dixie Boys All Stars sweep to state baseball crown, head to World Series

ENTERPRISE, Alabama—The Fairhope Dixie Boys 14 All Stars went undefeated in the State tournament with a perfect 6-0 record in Enterprise including a 9-7 victory over the host team for the Alabama state championship title Thursday.

The team which is made up of players Brett Bishop, Tevin Brown, Chancellor Childress, Payton Galich, Kody Gratkowski, David Hall, Brandon Jones, Camdon Layton, Mason Lockhart, Philip Martin, Brett Mosley and Caleb Rogers and coaches Kevin Galich, Mark Gratkowski and Mike Jones,now head to Seneca, S.C., Aug. 2 to play in the Dixie Boys 14-Year-Old World Series.

“I am very proud of our boys not only for how well and hard they played but also for how they conducted themselves and represented the city of Fairhope,” said coach Mike Jones. “I heard from several coaches and umpires that we were a class act. It was truly a team effort. Literally every player at some point in the tournament had a clutch play in a clutch situation that helped push us forward. As a coach, I could not be more proud.”
