FAIRHOPE — The Baldwin County Board of Education, Fairhope High School and the Fairhope Pirate Booster Club recently broke ground on the new female athletic facility to be built on the Fairhope High School campus.

The facility will be the first of its kind for female athletes in Baldwin County.

It is being funded in part by the Baldwin County Board of Education, the Fairhope schools and the Fairhope Pirate Booster Club.

The Fairhope Single Tax Corporation has also donated $30,000 to equip this facility with workout equipment and other furnishings.

The Booster club has committed $200,000 to this project, with $50,000 still needing to be raised by December.

In an effort to raise those funds, the Booster Club is offering a Five Year All Sports Pass for Two for $1000.

Anyone purchasing this membership will also have their names placed permanently on a plaque in the new facility.

The facility is set for completion in January 2008. For a booster club membership application, please visit Fairhope High School or the Fairhope Pirate Booster Club website at fairhoepboosters.com.

For additional information on this project or the Booster Club, call Fairhope High School at 990-2062.
