Fairhope head basketball coach Solomon Johnson earned his 100th career victory with the Pirates’ 68-60 win over Smiths Station Friday, Dec. 9.

Johnson is in his fifth year at the helm of the Fairhope program where the Pirates have claimed the last three straight titles in Class 7A Area 2 and won the South Regional Championship in 2020 to earn the school’s first final-four berth since 1988.

Fairhope’s win over the Panthers improved its overall record to 11-1 entering this week with contests against Baker and Spanish Fort on the docket. The Pirates’ lone loss so far came to St. Paul’s, 50-44, Dec. 2 which snapped a nine-game win streak to open the season.

The Class 7A Area 2 sprint will come in January when Fairhope squares off with Foley and Daphne twice in 11 days.
