Eugene Patrick Corcoran, 86, a native of Cincinnati, Ohio and resident of Gulf Shores, passed peacefully in Fairhope on Aug. 14, 2014.

He was born Sept. 16, 1927 to Francis and Cecilia Corcoran.

A 1945 graduate of Purcell High School  in Cincinnati, Ohio, he proudly served his country in World War II in occupied Germany and later received his B.S. from the University of Cincinnati.

Gene enjoyed a successful career as a sales engineer spanning five decades, in which he so proudly taught his three sons his entrepreneurial spirit, unsurpassed work ethic and unrelenting drive.

Gene was a God-fearing sportsman whose love of family and friends knew no boundaries.

Gene was the loving and devoted husband of 65 years to Doris Oswald Corcoran. He was a loving father of four children, Timothy Patrick Corcoran (Diane) of Magnolia Springs, Cynthia Corcoran Pedersen (Arthur), Dennis Paul Corcoran (Rebecca) and Kevin Scott Corcoran (Domini), all of Gulf Shores. Gene is remembered with love by 13 grandchildren, Brad (Mary Beth), Colleen (Scott), Megan, Courtney, Owen, Nicholas, Kelly , Erin, Michael, Melanie (Jake), Kylee, Jace and Carson; and five great-grandchildren, Devan, Bailey, Patrick, Megan and Erin.

The family will receive guests beginning at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2014 in the Parish Hall of Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church, 308 E. 22nd Avenue in Gulf Shores.

A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. at the church.

There will be a reception for all family and friends in the Parish Hall immediately following Mass with lunch served.

Interment will follow at a later date at St. Philomena Catholic Church and Cemetery in Owensville, Ohio.
