EVERGREEN, Alabama — The Alabama Department of Corrections reports the recapture of state inmate William Shawn Foster, 40, after escaping from the Loxley Work Release Center. Prison officials reported Foster’s escape at 10 p.m. on Tuesday.
Conecuh County sheriff’s deputies spotted Foster in a stolen vehicle at 3:20 a.m. on Wednesday along I-65 North near mile marker 90. After a brief chase, deputies pulled the vehicle over and arrested Foster without incident.
Foster had been serving a 20-year sentence for manufacturing a controlled substance in Madison County. He will now face charges for the escape.
