Ernie L. Rowell, 71, of Foley died Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2013 after a brief illness.
Mr. Rowell was born in Dawson, Ala., and retired from the Alabama State Parks System after having worked in Oak Mountain and Gulf State Parks as maintenance director.
Ernie had lived in Foley for several years and loved fishing, woodworking and played golf as a “leftie.”
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol.
Survivors include three sons, Christopher (Tracey) Rowell of Jacksonville, Ala., Rex (Theresa) Rowell of Delta, Ala. and Terry (LeAnne) Rowell of Brewton; a sister, Ruby Lee Knight of Geraldine, Ala.; two brothers, Hugh (Annette) Rowell of Skirum, Ala. and J. B. (Chris) Rowell of Geraldine. He also has 10 grandchildren.
