ROBERTSDALE, Alabama -- The Baldwin County Emergency Management Agency is partnering with the American Red Cross to open the Baldwin County Coliseum, 19477 Fairgrounds Road, Robertsdale, according to a release issued Friday morning by EMA.
The shelter, which was opened at 9 a.m. Friday, will remain open until Tuesday, Sept. 12.
Evacuees seeking shelter must have identification, any special dietary needs, medications, eye glasses and other comfort items such as pillows, sleeping bags, etc. Light refreshments will be provided by the American Red Cross.
Only documented service animals will be allowed inside the facility. Crated family pets will be accommodated outside in a covered area. Eighty RV hookups are available on the property of the fairgrounds.
Alcohol and weapons are prohibited in the shelter.
