Eloise Nichols Rowe

Eloise Nichols Rowe, 85, a native of Nashville, Tenn. and a resident of Fairhope, died Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2013.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Gale W. Rowe; and her sister, Martha Carolyn (Orville T.) Murphy.

She is survived by her brother, Thomas (Jane) M. Nichols, who lives in Rainbow City, Ala.; two sons, Christopher (Connie) M. Rowe of Fairhope and Clifford (Nan) D. Rowe of Lancaster, Ohio; two daughters, Rebecca R. Walker and Marsha (Mark) R. Foster of Fairhope; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Her family moved to Fairhope in 1931. She graduated from the Marietta Johnson School of Organic Education.

Rowe was a swimming instructor for the Red Cross organization as well as a preschool teacher.

Art was her passion and she expressed her art using many different mediums, including oil, acrylic, clay and silver.

A public memorial celebration will be held for family and friends on Nov. 30, 2013.
