Emily Flournoy Elliot and Sean Peter Casey were united in marriage May 19, 2007 on the lawn of the Grand Hotel, Point Clear. The Rev. Cheraga Diane Wiles Elliot, mother of the bride, officiated at the double ring ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of William Davis and Diane Wiles Elliot of Roanoke, Va. She is the granddaughter of Davis H. and Elizabeth A. Elliot of Roanoke, A. Donald and Emma Dean Wiles of Indianapolis.

She graduated from Antioch College and did post-baccalaureate work in classics at the University of California at Berkeley, and the University of Pennsylvania. She is a graduate of Natural Gourmet Institute in New York and is employed as a chef at Tabla restaurant in Manhattan.

The bridegroom is the son of Richard Warren and Barbara Jacobson Casey of Point Clear. He is the grandson of Jack and Georgia Jacobson of Point Clear and the late Ralph and Virginia Casey of Point Clear.

He is a graduate of Antioch College and is a television editor, currently employed by MTV in New York.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a silk V-neck sheath with asymmetrical layered hems and a falling chapel-length train. For something old, she carried a handkerchief made by her great-great-grandmother for her daughter’s wedding day. She carried and a romantic bouquet of ivory roses, ivory miniature calla lilies and blue hydrangeas with trailing ivy. Her hair was adorned with miniature calla lilies and ivy.

Elizabeth Wiles Elliot, sister of the bride, of New York, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Erin Casey Bailey, sister of the bridegroom of London; Holly Hanzel Disberger, spirit sister of the bride of Boulder, Colo.; and Annette Mathews Nolen of Roanoke.

The bridal attendants work silvery-blue, tea-length dresses.

Frederick Wilson Gaston of San Diego served as best man. Groomsmen were W. Rives Elliot, brother of the bride, of Roanoke; Seth Adams Johnson of Ann Arbor, Mich., Saul Jacob Naschen of Brooklyn; and Jonathan Morris Bailey, brother-in-law of the bridegroom, of London.

Flower girl was Marisol Virginia Dobe, God-daughter of the bride, daughter of Annette Nolen.

Reader was John Christopher Busby of Ithaca, N.Y.

Wedding music was composed and played by J. Simon Nolen of Roanoke.

A reception was held at the Grand Hotel.

After a wedding trip to the Maritime Provinces of Canada, the couple reside in Brooklyn, N.Y.
