FOLEY, Ala. — Two Elberta men have been charged with allegedly burglarizing a Foley gas station.
Foley Police arrested 26-year-old Roscoe David Daugherty and 30-year-old Richard Wayne Giles for burglarizing the Exxon station located at 701 S. McKenzie St. on the morning of Monday, Aug. 26.
“Approximately $900 in cash and miscellaneous items were taken,” Foley Police Cpl. Glenn Hartenstein said.
He explained that surveillance video showed two white males had forced entry into the store. Further investigation resulted in the arrests of Daugherty and Giles.
“They were both charged with one count of burglary in the third degree,” Hartenstein said.
Both were transferred on Wednesday, Aug. 28, to the Baldwin County Corrections Center in Bay Minette on the felony charge, where they remain in custody on a $5,000 bond each.
This is not a first-time arrest for either of the two. Giles’ previous record dates back to 2005 and includes theft of property, receiving stolen property and driving under the influence. Daugherty was charged with harassment in 2006 by the Orange Beach Police Department.
