Elberta and Fairhope High to host first-ever FFA rodeo fundraiser Nov. 14, 15

This weekend, Future Farmers of America (FFA) groups at Elberta and Fairhope high schools are hosting the first FFA fundraiser rodeo for the county schools.

The "Grit, Gold and Glory Rodeo" will be held at the Carol Hodgson Arena at 43421 Pine Grove Road in Bay Minette on Nov. 14-15. Gates open at 6 p.m., and the rodeo will begin at 7:30 p.m. Guests can check out the live band and the kid zone before the rodeo kicks off.

Kelsey Hopper, Elberta High School agriculture (AG) teacher and FFA advisor, said all funds raised will go to the schools' AG and FFA departments.

"We have never hosted a rodeo before — this will be the first-ever FFA rodeo to Baldwin County — a huge first fundraiser for our AG/FFA class," she said. "We are super excited with how it is going so far and hope it continues to grow year after year."

Ahead of the event, there were sponsorship/donation opportunities for the rodeo. Other funding opportunities will be available on the rodeo grounds.

For those who are unable to attend the festival but would like to support the AG and FFA departments, Hopper suggested checking out other events hosted by the schools throughout the year.
