Edwin C. Grissom, 88, a native of Etowah, Tenn., who grew up in Birmingham, and was former resident of Atlanta and current resident of Fairhope, passed away, Monday, Sept. 23, 2013.
He was an Army veteran who served during WWII.
Mr. Grissom retired from Dennison Manufacturing Co. with 30 years of service.
Edwin was preceded in death by his only son, Edwin Coit Grissom Jr.; and two brothers, Winfred M. Grissom and William A. Grissom.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley S. Grissom of Fairhope; sister, Sarah Grissom Elliott of Birmingham; granddaughter, Kristen Leigh Grissom Elmore of Plano, Texas; great-grandson, Alexander Bradley Elmore of Dallas, Texas; brother-in-law, Alan (Peggy) Sams of Daphne; several nieces, nephews and other loving relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Thursday, Sept. 26, 2013, at 11 a.m., at the chapel of Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Fairhope. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be held at a later date.
