BAY MINETTE, Ala - The Gamma Gamma chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa, an international organization for women educators, recently held its third annual "Taste of ADK" fundraising event at the First United Methodist Church in Bay Minette. People from the community, many who are fellow educators themselves, came out to support Gamma Gamma in its fundraising efforts.

For the third year, the ladies of Gamma Gamma filled the church fellowship hall with delicious homemade foods, chapter cookbooks and silent auction items. Gamma Gamma sisters work hard each year to earn enough money to provide scholarships to two Baldwin County High School seniors who are pursuing a degree in education. This tradition has continued for the past 13 years since the Gamma Gamma chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa was chartered in 1998.

Baldwin County High School students who are entering an education degree program following graduation from high school, can obtain applications for Gamma Gamma's scholarships from Betty Clemmons, English teacher at BCHS. Applications are usually made available in late March to mid-April. Scholarships are awarded at the Gamma Gamma chapter meeting, which is held the second Thursday of May.
